My girlfriend and I chose a vacation to Croatia because it offered everything we were looking for: sea, sun, nature, charming villages and great food. Each location gave us the opportunity to learn about and enjoy this amazing country’s history, spectacular sights, and romantic and lively nightlife. 

I had worked with Bella Vita Travels on my Italy trip a couple of years ago and knew they would be able to create another great trip for me. In fact, our Croatia trip was scheduled on short notice yet still greatly exceeded our expectations. We were pleasantly surprised with the excellent excursions planned for us while having enough time for us to explore and appreciate each city on our own. We had a limited amount of time so we knew we’d be on the go, but enjoyed the pace and getting the most out of our time in Croatia.

We both agree that Dubrovnik was our favorite destination overall. We had a great tour of the old town in Dubrovnik and the view from the top of the wall was absolutely stunning. Also, we had the pleasure of enjoying a beautiful private beach only a few minute walk from our hotel and a couple romantic dinners looking out over the Mediterranean.

Our private driver enhanced our trip in drastic proportions not only by providing the easiest way to travel between cities, but his knowledge of the region and deep history of Croatia gave us a much better appreciation for the country. On his suggestion, we traveled to several unplanned destinations and select wineries we would have otherwise missed out on. He was also always on time, very personable, and willing to cater to our own schedule during our free time.

The walking tours of the Plitvice Lakes and Krka National Parks were two of our favorite excursions. We were free to enjoy and explore their beauty at our leisure. Going in early October when the weather was still beautiful turned out to be a great decision because it wasn’t crowded, and we were able to take countless pictures at both places.

Oh and the Croatian food…WOW! We enjoyed many great seafood and meat dishes and were pleasantly surprised at the variety and style in which each was prepared. Ingredients were fresh and meals were full of flavor. This was our first introduction to Croatian wine and we weren’t disappointed. We’ve even started looking for it here in the States!

This trip was all we could have asked for and more. The only thing I would change would have been to stay longer! Once again, Bella Vita gets 5 stars from us! Megan was incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable with everything from assisting with our flights to providing us with a luxury vacation we’ll never forget. We have recommended Bella Vita Travels to several of our friends and family, and will definitely be booking all our Mediterranean travels through them in the future.
