This morning meet your guide and driver for a private tour of Istria’s gorgeous and interesting inland. Known best as the truffle region, Istria is a fine mélange of picture-perfect landscape and exquisite gastronomy.

After approximately a one our driver through the countryside, you will reach the charming village of Buzet. Here you will meet your hosts a local family Prodan, who are the third generation of truffle hunters. Learn about the history and enticement of truffles in a private truffle hunt, followed by lunch in their home. Let their trained truffle dogs take you into the family’s private woods and enjoy intact nature around you. After the truffle hunt, you will use your catch to make your today’s lunch!

Afterwards, your driver will accompany you to the charming hilltop town of Groznjan where you’ll enjoy its artistic atmosphere, as it abounds in quirky galleries and art studios. Spend the rest of the day exploring the idyllic Istrian inland of rolling hills, dotted with small towns and hilltop villages.

In the Momjan area discover a small but productive wine region, which even provided the Austro-Hungarian aristocracy with wine. Enjoy private wine tasting at the Kabola family winery and taste their excellent Teran, Muscat and Malmsey wines. Afterward this full day, your driver will transfer you back to your hotel for an evening at leisure.
