Getting to know Malaga

Located in the south of the Iberian Peninsula, Málaga is the sixth largest city in Spain. It’s a port city, and its strategic location makes it also an important economic city in Spain.
Málaga is almost always sunny, so it has one of the warmest winters in Europe. In the hot summer months, exploring the beaches and countryside are also great ways to make the most of your holiday. Located in the Andalusia region, you can also find flamenco music and dancing – this is its birthplace!
History lovers will be impressed with the open air museum that is the city center. You can see archaeological remains and monuments from the Phoenician, Roman, Arabic and Christian eras.

For art lovers, you cannot miss a tour of the Picasso Museum! Malaga’s most famous son has, fittingly, a museum here. If Picasso isn’t your choice, don’t worry. Malaga has over 30 museums and its nickname is also the ‘City of Museums’!
Another activity in the area is a day trip to the magnificent Alhambra in Granada. About an hour and a half drive from Malaga, your local, private guide will show you this special destination. It is the best preserved example of a Moorish fortress palace in Europe, and one of the world’s most romantic monuments dating back more than 600 years.
Those who came to soak in the famous sun the coast gets its name from won’t be disappointed! Without even venturing far from the city, head to Playa de la Caleta in Malaga or El Castillo Beach in Fuengirola. There are so many great choices for beaches in the area!
