Vibrant Morocco is the perfect choice for a tailor made vacation over the holidays. It’s climate means that many destinations aren’t too cold. This north African nation still gets a fair amount of sunny days over the winter months! There are an endless amount of activities and excursions available year round. Sunny but cooler days make exploring souks and bustling cities a pleasure compared to the stifling summer temperatures!

Morocco has many faces: it has both the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. It has both seeming endless desert and beautifully snow-capped mountains. There are labyrinth markets, cosmopolitan cities, palm-tree swaying oases in the middle of nowhere and an infusion of smells and colors bordering on sublime sensory overload. It is exotic and mysterious yet welcoming and hospitable.

This month, we will share some holiday itinerary ideas for tailor made trips to some of our favorite cities in the winter. It’s never too late – or early – to start planning. As always, we tailor all of our trips to your travel wishes. These are some ideas for your next vacation in Morocco! Day 1: Welcome to Morocco

Upon your arrival in Casablanca, your private concierge will greet you as you get off the plane and assist you in getting through fast-track customs and immigration. He’ll then help you with your luggage and accompany you to meet your private driver. After, your private driver will accompany you to the magnificent city of Fes in an easy 3 hour direct drive.

Day 2: Fes

Today you will have a full day guided private city tour of Fes. You will discover some of the monuments and history of the medina as well as the modern part. Fes is one of the most important centers of learning in the world!

The ancient part of Fes is a UNESCO Heritage Site. Also, it is probably the largest car-free urban area in the world. The skills of its artisans are incredible. They work in trades such as metal and leatherworking, ceramics, wool, silk, and tapestries. The political capital of Morocco was transferred to Rabat in 1912. However, Fes is still regarded by Moroccans as the spiritual center of their country. Your guide will help you discover the highlights of the city. Also, he will help you navigate the winding streets of the souks!


Day 3: Full Day Tour to Meknes and Volubilis with Lunch and Morocco Wine Tasting

After breakfast this morning, you’ll meet your driver and guide for a special day. A private tour of the city of Meknes and the Roman ruins of Volubilis!

Meknes, known as “Moroccan Versailles”, was founded in the 17th century. Meknes is famous for its 25-mile-long walls.

You’ll also visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis. Excavated by the French in 1915, these Roman ruins date back to the 3rd century AD. They are an interesting glimpse into Morocco’s varied past.
They are located near Meknes in one of the most fertile lands. The ruins of Volubilis have been qualified by UNESCO as ‘an exceptionally well-preserved example of a large Roman colonial town’.

After your visit, you’ll return to Fes and your luxury riad accommodations.

Day 4: Fes to Marrakech

Today your private driver will accompany you to the Fes airport in time to catch your direct flight to Marrakesh. Upon arrival, your driver will be waiting to greet you and take you to your elegant hotel.

In the evening, your guide will meet you for a sunset tour of Jemaa El Fna Square. With your local guide, this enchantingly hectic place truly comes to life. Your guide will help you negotiate at local market stalls, you can see snake charmers, food vendors and enjoy the exotic atmosphere that the city has at night.

Day 5: See Marrakech like a local

Today you will have a private full day city tour of Marrakech. Marrakech is a vibrant city that exhibits a curious blend of the ancient and the modern. This allows travelers the chance to experience the genuine medieval atmosphere of the old medina. At the same time, visit the trendiest bars, art galleries, and restaurants in the French Quarter. Sites you will see can include the El Bahia Palace or the Saadian Tombs – the day is tailor made to your interests!

Day 6: Explore Morocco through its food

One of the most pleasant aspects of Morocco is its closeness to nature. Organic food and vegetables a luxury in most Western countries are easily available in Morocco, and indeed the only kind of food available in large areas of the Kingdom. With today’s semi-private hands-on cooking class, you’ll have a close-up experience of traditional Moroccan cooking. You’ll start your day in the Souk, the Moroccan market, where you will choose, along with your hosts, the ingredients for your lesson. You’ll then gather in the courtyard of a traditional riad where together with local cooks, you’ll learn how to create a typical Moroccan meal. Following your class, you’ll enjoy the fruits of your labor- a truly unforgettable experience!

Your afternoon is free to enjoy on your own. As always, your private guide and driver are at your disposition should you need them.

Day 7: Farewell, Morocco

This morning your private driver will accompany you to the Marrakech airport and assist you with your luggage and checking in. If your flight departs from Casablanca, we will arrange a transfer there instead.

If your flight leaves later in the day, we can arrange a varied amount of experiences in the morning. Shopping the souks with our local guide? Tour of Les Jardins Majorelle?

Or, perhaps your trip won’t end here! A trip to Oualidia and the Atlantic coast? A few nights in Rabat? The choice is yours and we would be happy to design your trip as you wish!
